So it’s been a long time since I’ve blogged! I think it’s probably going to be like that for some time, and really besides work there’s still not that much going on. I’m posting this from work right now, on my lunch hour. I wish I could snuggle up with my book and read for awhile but it’s too distracting here in the office. Phones ringing, and people coming in, besides that reading while sitting ramrod straight in a desk chair isn’t my favorite way to settle in with a book. I prefer cushy furniture. I’m enjoying the book I’m reading now, “The Culture Of Fear: Why Americans Are Afraid of the Wrong Things”. There’s a lot of graphic stories in there right now that are used as examples (and often are misrepresented in the media) but other than that, it’s a good read. I think next I’ll be reading something fictional, I’ve had quite a bit of non-fiction lately.

So last night Mike and I went to our first ballroom dancing lesson! It was more difficult than I anticipated, but I think that we’re going to get the hang of it. I’m not used to dancing with a partner so it’s sorta weird. Right now we’re clumsily learning the steps, but with some practice I think we’ll be just fine. The only thing I’m not really crazy about with these lessons is how we’re just thrown into it. They don’t teach you how to count rhythms or anything, it’s just – here are the steps, now go. The instructors say “listen to the music!” but if you aren’t sure what you are counting, then you’re lost. It’s funny, because they demonstrated the steps as “quick quick slow” or something like that, and then all of a sudden they are like “Ok, do this turn for 6 counts”. Six counts of what?? I think private lessons would be better, but we’re doing it this way because it’s more affordable. Maybe in a few years when we master the basics (and have more money for stuff like this).

So far we don’t have any plans for the weekend. I haven’t thought past tonight’s dinner (Chicken with Pineapple sauce and veggies). I’d also like to finally watch Steel Magnolias. Other than that, I’m hoping that we can have a nice, relaxing weekend at home. We’ve been pretty mobile lately, and I’m due for some hibernation, I think. Last weekend was cool, we went to this new restaurant called Hasta La Pasta up in Katy. There was live jazz by Kim Provost and the food was awesome. We’ll definitely be going back there. We used a BOGO coupon for our meal, so it was really inexpensive too. Our entertainment book is so neat, we get to experience all of these new places to eat.

Anyways, hope that everyone is doing well. Leave me some comments! Tell me about a new restaurant you ate at or something. :D

I can’t remember if I told you this already or not, but Robie Food has THE BEST chinese food ever! And apparently kiel knows a place in the city that has the best pizza ever. That may be little harder to win me over, since I work at the place that has the best pizza EVER!

I wanna take ballroom dancing lessons! Or more swing dancing lessons! But first, I gotta find me a guy that’s up for it. That’s the really tricky part.
