I know I look silly but I was bein

So the wedding shower was great! I had a good time talking with people and chilling out. I’ve got lots of pictures to show all, and some of them came out really nicely. We meant to take more today when we went to the mall and to Pizza Delight, but we just forgot I guess.

So I spent most of Friday driving around picking things up and calming down my sister because of wedding freakouts. I had to pick up a few things for the wedding from Blooming Balloons and the food trays from Superstore for the wedding shower. I ended up stopping by McDonald’s to chat with April over flower girl dresses and then I headed home and did a few more errands in Pubnico and helped to set up a little. Then we watched Oprah and then headed down to the hall to wait for everyone to arrive. About 35 people showed up, and we ate food and played games and chatted, then I opened up about 40 envelopes and a couple gifts.
The flower girl dress that we were looking at from the store in Woods Harbour ended up reaching a dead end – the last one was snatched up the day before. (What luck.) So April got the idea to search on ebay, and we actually found one this morning that we really liked. (Linky!) So I called April after finding out more about it and she wasn’t home, she got back to me a few hours later and we discussed the shipping etc and then we agreed to go for it. So Mike ordered it and got it sent to his place.

Anyways, today I went shopping (not with the shower money, hah!) and used up my La Senza gift card from April, and purchased some new workout DVDs. I bought a bathing suit (linky) and this cute coverup (linky) – except mine was white. They only had that one last coverup left and it just happened to be on sale and in my size. How lucky!! I also got a tee shirt that I am wearing as I type this (linky) however mine is pink. I was pretty impressed with all the stuff that I got today, I even found Here on Earth on DVD for 7$ at Zellers! Yay!

Anyways, enjoy the photos! I’m heading back to Wolfville tomorrow afternoon and my first summer course starts 9am on Monday, so I’ll make sure to mention how that goes. Hope everyone is doing good!

Busy Girl 2: Electric Boogaloo

Tuesday, May 2nd, 2006

Today was insanely busy, I’ve been on the go for the past 12 hours pretty much nonstop! This morning I woke in a panic because I realized I hadn’t taken my prescription in a week and a half! All the flurry in moving and stuff caused me to completely forget. I showered and dressed, then I went to the Pharmasave to ask what I was supposed to do, so they told me just to start up next month and I felt a bit better. Then I drove into town because I had an eye appointment for 11, went there and got a slightly different presciption for my contacts, although my glasses are apparently fine. The new ones should be coming in next week, but mom will have to mail them to me and I’ll have a follow up appointment on the day before I get married. :P

After that, I didn’t have my next appointment until 3, so I went to Runner’s Attic to return my painful sneakers, and got some replacements that were only $20 more. And I think the problem may have been that I had a half size too small in the other ones. These ones are 7 1/2 and I wore them all day without aching. I pretty much only ached when I tried on shoes at Payless (and ended up buying two pairs of ballet flat-esque shoes. So cute!). Right now my temples ache from wearing my glasses all day long. I don’t know how people can do this all day, every day. I think I would go mad. This is why I wanted contacts to begin with, anyone who wears glasses all day long is nuts! Either that or masochist or resistant to change. Contacts are awesome! Just the peripheral vision is enough to switch.

My appointment at the ophthamologist (I think?) went alright… I only waited in the damn doctor’s office for an hour. An hour! And then, halfway through my appointment I had to wait 20 minutes for my eyes to dilate while he saw another patient. Sure enough, there’s a hole in my eye. But he can’t say whether or not I should get laser treatment. No, I have to go see a THIRD doctor, a retinal specialist in Halifax. Sigh! It never ends, honestly. So he’s going to call sometime and schedule an appointment.

So anyways, I did some more wedding stuff, ordered more flowers and then I ordered that sheet cake I meant to get and forgot to last time. So loads of flowers have been ordered and yummy confections are all set to go. Mom and I also picked up napkins and other things for the shower this Friday evening and the wedding.

I loaded up on skincare stuff. I got Nair, sunblock, more Jergens “natural glow” moisturizer, and some exfoliating scrub, plus one of those bath mitts. I need to do some skincare stuff badly, my skin is drying off and … ewy. I also got some shampoo and anti-perspirant and that sort of thing. OH! And mom bought me a dress at Reitman’s. It looks SO GOOD on me, seriously. That dress was made for my body. Simply stunning. Anyways, yeah that was my day and my haul today, pretty full day. Tomorrow hopefully I’ll just hang out here and do next to nothing. Well, not next to nothing, but not spend any more money! Haha! Anyways, toodles all!
