One more week! You can do it!

Wednesday, March 29th, 2006

Ahh, it’s finally spring. I know it’s technically been spring for over a week, but here it finally hit today. The temperature outside was so nice and warm, everyone is wearing little tank tops and light jackets, and shorts and sandals. It’s great. This is so my favorite time of the year. I’m hoping we won’t be seeing anymore snow until next winter. I won’t be seeing it then anyways, probably! Yeehaw! It so great to finally have the warm weather come, it makes me feel great and happy – not to mention I’ve lost 6 lbs total and I feel great! It’s actually starting to be noticeable on my hips. Unfortunately, you can’t pick and choose which body fat melts first, but something is better than nothing. So, hips and butt it is. Maybe my pants will start fitting again! Already my capris I bought during spring break are getting a bit baggy. Bending down is a no-no in these, they practically reveal everything!

But yeah, I have three more essays to do, my final exams, and then my distance course to finish up then I have a couple weeks with NO SCHOOL RESPONSIBILITIES. Wow. I never knew such a thing could exist! After that, of course, I have my spring courses starting May 8th, but that’s fine. By then it will be less than a month until the big day – can’t believe it’s already almost here. Everything is starting to fall into place, I’ve still got other little things to get done like invitations and such, but those are only going out mid April so I still have some time. It’s great to think that all this hard work will soon result in some grades and free time. I just can’t wait for this semester to be over.

Not this weekend, but the next, I’ll be heading home to spend some time with the family. I’m hoping that by then, I’ll have lost a few more pounds and I can flaunt it to my sister, no more J.Lo butt for her to laugh at! Muahaha! I might do some shopping too, find some pants that stay up haha. And I’ve gotta clean out the truck, it’s nasty dirty inside. I’m just so excited for the winding down of classes and everything. More free time, more warmth, more sun, more everything that’s fun! It definitely won’t get to beach weather while I’m here (that’s not until July unless it gets unseasonably warm) but I’ll be ready for beaching when we get to Houston! Huzzah!

Anyways, hope everything is going great with everyone else, be it work or exams or whatever. Drop me a line, let me know how you’re doing!

Fun Weekend

Sunday, March 26th, 2006

Well, that was a pretty good weekend. I went and brought the car and dress in on Friday, and then I came home and did some reading and stuff. Got ready to watch that program at the SUB, but when I got there, there was no one else around. Not entirely surprising but I figured maybe SOMEONE would show up. I guess everybody else that watched has cable. I realized later that I do have that channel. Grr. Anyways, we went to the Axe and it was really dull. The DJs weren’t really playing good dancing tunes, mostly random hiphop suck. So Owen came over here and we watched movies. He crashed on my couch for the weekend too, and I took him shopping for new jeans on Saturday morning. I stopped at the Sport Chek store and looked for cute workout clothes but they didn’t really have what I had in mind. They had really cute bathing suits though. I ended finding workout clothes I actually liked on Victoria’s Secret website. I probably won’t order them until I get to the US though, because shipping to Canada is a bit on the pricey side. We’ll see, I’ll probably go back to the other place sometimes and see what they have.

I meant to work on my term paper today, but after taking a nap, I so don’t feel like working on it, feeling groggy and out of it. Maybe now is as good a time as any to take a little break from working and go at it with zeal tomorrow.

Car Trouble and Hemming to do

Thursday, March 23rd, 2006

Well, tomorrow is going to be a busy day. I’ve got to do the usual; breakfast and working out, showering etc. Then it’ll be off to Coldbrook to bring the truck to the Dodge dealership to get that little sensor problem cleared up, although I’m not sure that the problem exists anymore. Ah well, they’ll check it out and make sure. I also want to stop by the alterations place in Kentville and drop off my dress pants and my wedding dress to get fixed up. I’m starting to run out of time for that dress so I think it’s best to just bring it somewheres and soon. And then tomorrow night I’m going to be a nerd and go to the SUB and watch a program for my American foreign policy class. It’s probably not very long, so I’ll still have the evening to do whatever I want. I’m hoping to get out to the Axe tomorrow night, but we’ll see. I feel like I haven’t been out in forever. Been pretty busy with schoolstuff lately. It’s time to relax and get some things done. And have fun!

Oy!

Tuesday, March 21st, 2006

Oh man, am I ever feeling the pain today from working out. My neck, back, and legs all hurt. This means that it’s working!! I weighed myself this morning and I’m down to 134! Already! I weighed 138 Saturday night. It’s definitely letting me think that this toning might actually happen in time for the wedding. Wouldn’t I be thrilled to be able to walk around on the beach and not worry about my tummy hanging over my bathing suit bottom? HECK YEAH! I guess all that it takes to get some motivation is for your mother to tell you that you are fat and then the same day try on a bunch of clothes and nothing fits!

I haven’t noticed any change in the way that my clothes fit so far, but I’m hoping that some pants that don’t fit all that good will start fitting again. I mean, pants that I bought just last summer weren’t fitting anymore :( and it was getting sad. I joined up at sparkpeople.com to start my diet to go along with the exercising. You can’t just exercise when you want to get rid of flab, you need to change your entire lifestyle. Now that school work is winding down, I have more time to be serious about this. Once classes are over, I’ll be able to go full steam ahead into my working out. It’s going to be great. Although judging from how I spent 2 1/2 hours working out yesterday, one could argue I’m already full steam ahead!

Well, I’m going to reward myself with some cookies in a few minutes. I haven’t eaten too much in the way of sweets lately, I’ve been pretty good. I have kinda lost my appetite for them. I wanted ice cream yesterday, but when I thought of the ice cream in my freezer, I suddenly didn’t want it anymore. I think its mainly because what I really wanted was Dairy Queen and I didn’t have that so I didn’t want a substitute, haha! Anyways! Time to get cookies and get ready for class.

Shopaholic!

Sunday, March 19th, 2006

Well Saturday afternoon sure was a good time! After we got the truck checked out (I have to bring it to the dealership this week… boo!) we headed to Halifax and to the shopping centre. I think we hit every clothing store in the place. I definitely scored myself some nice stuff. I got a beigey brown suit, with blazer and pants, and a nice shirt to match that is sort of corset-y but not really. I also got a denim skirt and western style belt to go with it, and a nice nightie from La Senza, and this NICE dress coat from Ricki’s. The coat was 100$ but it is so nice and looks good with just about everything. It matches my brown dress pants perfectly. We had a bit of a surprise when we got home and realized that both my and mom’s La Senza bags were missing! I called around the mall and found them at the Customer Service desk. Mom had to drive back to Halifax to pick them up. It was quite the adventure, I’ll say. It’s nice to finally have dress clothes to wear though, I can’t wait until I get the pants hemmed so that I can wear them every day! Well, not really, but I’d like to wear them fairly often.

Yay weekend!

Saturday, March 18th, 2006

This weekend will be a relaxing break before going to the grindstone full speed ahead! Mom is up for the weekend, and we did a bit of shopping tonight, mostly groceries and little things. Tomorrow we are going into Halifax to the shopping centre there, and I’m hoping to score some new clothes. We were going to bring my dress in to the tailor, but of course he is taking this weekend off :P Darn dude! I’ll probably have to bus in sometimes and bring it in that way. We’ll see.

Anyways, I got a new digital camera tonight so that was cool. Mom got it for free so it’s not like it’s awesometastic or anything, but I’m sure it will work good. It’s really small though, it will fit in my purse, that’s how small it is! It’s neat, I’m excited to get it working. I made a few notecards tonight, they look pretty good but I messed up on of the stickers really bad, hopefully whoever gets it will think that I did it on purpose or something.

By the way — I have my internet back! Booya! It’s nice to be not so cut off from everything anymore. When I need to look something up, I can. It’s great. Not to mention I can finally TALK TO PEOPLE. That’s always a benefit.

My exercise regime has been going pretty well. I’ve worked out at least a half hour every day for almost two weeks. Mom said that she saw a difference, but I can’t see anything yet. Of course, it’s only been a week. They say it might take a few months before I see any results. I’m feeling good though, so that’s a plus. I’m finding that I have more energy which is great. I recommend it!

Anyways, I’m thinking it’s about time that I get some shut eye, got a busy day tomorrow with taking the truck to the shop, then heading into the city for some fun shopping. Weee!

So true

Thursday, March 16th, 2006

“Our position to one another in our families is, and must be, like that of the Moon to the Earth. The Moon revolves around her, moves with her, never leaves her. Yet the Earth never sees but one side of her; the other side remains for ever unknown.” – Florence Nightingale.

So right on the ball – how many of our families actually know us even though they claim that they do?!

The Final Countdown

Wednesday, March 15th, 2006

Hard to believe that there’s already only 23 days left of classes. Already! After that I get two weeks of exams and then 3 weeks OFF before I start my new classes. I have to write a research paper in there for my distance course, but heck, one paper I can handle. Especially when there are no other distractions. I’m looking forward to ending my undergraduate degree so much. I’m ready for my new life. I’m starting to get quite excited to be working and stuff, it will be a nice change of pace for me. All of my hobbies that I haven’t had the time to indulge in will probably be taking the centre stage for awhile, not to mention of all the reading that I haven’t had an opportunity to do because of so much Academic reading. Right now I really REALLY want to finish Memoirs of a Geisha but I can’t because I have so little time.

I’m looking forward to the next few months though, I’ve got a pretty good routine going in my new place. Now that I am pretty isolated, I feel more comfortable doing my workout DVDs since I’m not worried about interruptions and that sort of thing. I’ve got to find the time to get to the gym though, it’s really not cool that I’ve got so little time. I figure that once the weather starts to clear up it won’t be such a pain to drive the truck down to the Athletic complex. I’ve been laying off the sweets and trying to eat smaller, healthier meals, so hopefully that will start making a difference soon. I’m already feeling better about myself, I’d just like to see some physical results soon!! I also need a workout buddy. Any volunteers?

Going to class always makes me feel less productive than I could be. It always seems like I get more accomplished when I skip classes. How does that work? Probably because in between classes I just sit around and in a lot of my classes the profs drone on and I don’t feel like I’ve done myself a favour by going. I mean, some classes I take like 50 pages of notes and it’s like, WOW I’ve learned so much by coming here! But others, I’m like talking on msn or playing solitaire and wishing I had skipped and taken the time to do homework that needs to be done. Ah well, I’m paying for these classes so I shouldn’t skip them without a valid reason.

Anyways, I’m gonna sign off here, I think. Hopefully I will have internet this weekend, but we’ll see I guess. My opinion of Eastlink customer support isn’t really good at the moment… If I don’t, then it’s another week or so of being productive!

I’m back! … but not for long…

Monday, March 13th, 2006

So Eastlink people came on Friday… for the one hour while I was in class. So I called to make a new appointment and I have to wait until THIS coming Friday. This is getting ridiculous. Anyways, on the plus side I’m getting mucho work accomplished which rocks. Today I got some new workout clothes so woohoo, I’m already to hit the gym once these papers get done. I signed up for my spring classes today, I’ve got a morning class for May and an evening class for June. It should be pretty fun, I’m looking forward to it. I’m feeling better, health-wise though, that’s a good thing. I’ve been staying away from the Pepsi since that seems to be what’s making me feel awful. I had a Pepsi Wednesday night and then after that I felt like crap. So, I’ve been eating healthier and trying to get outside and get some fresh air while it’s nice and warm outside. It’s ten degrees out there today, beautiful and sunny and warm!

Anyways, I’m all moved into my new place and lovin’ it, my new bed is awesome. I got some really nice sheets from WalMart (who’da known?) and then I ordered some Sateen ones from the Linen store next to Blockbuster in New Minas. I also went to the scrapbooking store to pick up a few things for notecards. It should make some nice cards. Other than that, I’m just hanging out and stuff. Did a fair amount of reading over the weekend and watched a few movies. The good thing about not really knowing that many people around Wolfville is that I get so much schoolwork done and I can get all my little hobbies done too. It’s pretty neat to actually have some time on your hands. I don’t know how people can juggle boyfriends, school and then other friends and still have time to watch movies or whatever. It’s kinda lonely, but it’s only for a few more months. By mid-April everyone will be gone anyways.

Anyways, so you all know, I’m well. Things are going alright, just kinda lonely up at the new place, but I guess that hasn’t really changed a whole lot from the old place. If anybody feels like visiting come on down! I think I’m actually getting a visitor this weekend, mom is supposed to be coming up, but it’s giving snow so I guess that we’ll have to wait and see about that. If she does come, then we are supposed to go into Halifax so that I can bring my dress in to the seamstress. And April is supposed to come too and get a flower girl dress for Mackenzie. Well, I guess that I’m off, got class coming up soon and whatever. Don’t expect to be seein’ me online too much, end of the year papers and stuff to finish up and no internet all lead to me not really being around too much.
