You know you work too hard when…
… you have to force yourself to have some downtime that lasts longer than it takes to eat a meal.
I’m finding myself with free time right now, and absolutely nothing recreational sounds like fun. On top of that, I find myself feeling bored without schoolwork. But on Tuesdays and Thursdays I have so little time between classes that I can’t get enough of a time block to make studying worthwhile. Who wants to study for 30 minutes? Might as well catch up on my internet reading (ie, Blogs and webcomics) and do some socializing by msn. It’s also a good time to catch up on any mini-assignments that I didn’t have time to finish on Wednesday but I’m in the clear for today.
It just seems funny that when you are constantly in the habit of being productive, suddenly lazying around watching movies and playing games seems not as fun as accomplishing things. That doesn’t make me more motivated to clean out my bedroom however. Which it desperately needs.
I guess “fun” wouldn’t be the right word to describe doing homework. But the good feeling I get once I tick off the last thing on my to-do list and go to bed worry free is great. It’s definitely keeping the stress levels down. But all work and no play makes Meags a dull girl, so I have to take time outs for myself, to read, relax, watch a movie, etc. Procrastinating used to be something I did before schoolwork, and I’m sure I’ll slip into that behaviour again maybe later this or next semester. But for now, it’s a kill or be killed situation. I’ve got 8 classes on the go, a final coming up, 2 massive research papers to go (and then another final) and heaven knows what for actual class in the near future. Frig, I have a test next Tuesday! So if I don’t stay on top of things now when it’s imperative not to fall behind, I could be in a really sad state.
So with that in mind, I’m going to chill out for the next 45 minutes then run off to class, but I’m taking my GameBoy with me!
