I love the movie Phenomenon, with John Travolta. I swear, I can’t watch that movie without tearing up a little, even though I must have seen it a dozen times by now. In it, he wins over the woman he likes by buying her uncomfortable wicker chairs, just so that he can see her every day when she drops off more at the gas station where he works. Robert Duvall sums up how he won the girl’s affections in the end by saying “he bought her chairs.”

This morning, Mike did the cutest thing for me. The entire loaf of bread that I had bought the other day was eaten by Bailey, as the destructive dog will do anything to eat human food. I wanted toast for breakfast today because that’s what I usually have, but Mike didn’t feel like going out last night and I didn’t want to drive in the dark alone. I was a little bit disappointed, but I forgot about it.

This morning when I woke up, there was a note saying “Happy Breakfast-Day” on top of my bathrobe, and on the desk next to it was a loaf of bread and some strawberries! I can’t believe how sweet my fiance is!

So I guess you could say he buys my “bread”! :P
