In the Blink of an Eye

Friday, July 30th, 2004

GEEZ. Sick AGAIN! How fast things change between entries, eh? Or from day to day. 28 hours ago, I was fine. Everything was hunky dory, my friends were coming over, Pizza Delight was on the horizon. Now I’m wrapped up in a blanket in my PJs, trying to gulp down a Pepsi even though I’m not enjoying it as much as usual (that gives me great sadness). And feeling pretty miserable. I’m stuck on this craptacular computer with my room half devoid of my stuff, the cat comes in, attacks, and leaves (such a loving feline), and I left the CD remote on the other side of the room. Hiss.

Regardless, this gives me much needed time to recollect and just zone out after the last two months of whirlwind activity. Also, if I don’t leave the house I can’t get any broker.

Back Home

Thursday, July 29th, 2004

Well, this week since I’ve been home has passed in whirlwind speed. I was hoping that I wouldn’t be writing anymore of my entries on this craptacular computr, but since I was a dope and left the power cord to Mike’s laptop behind I have to endure a few more days of this crap. Tis alright, I had to upload files from here onto my webspace so as to download them later. Besides the fact, it hasn’t been giving me any trouble, most likely due to the fact that now that Mike has unlimited long distance for one flat rate we spend most of our chatting time on the phone.

I’ll try to have a longer entry up soon, i haven’t really had much time — been visiting and hanging out with people since I’ve been gone almost a month. Mom’s on vacation from work this week, which is really strange, but I’ve decided to stay home an extra week from the apartment due to her vacation (next week too). We’re still making a day trip into Wolfville, but coming home instead of leaving me there. I have so much stuff it’s going to take ages to bring it all up. Even though I need to start looking for work, but I’ll have to hang in there for now. I got my Visa in case of an emergency (which, sadly, does not include my lack of having Season 3 of Dawson’s Creek).

Anyways, more talk soon. Must eat supper before my gals come over!

Ants in MY Pants?

Thursday, July 22nd, 2004

Woke up this morning to a dripping ceiling, I stumbled into Mike’s room around 8am and he was already up, working on the computer. I mumbled something about a leaky ceiling that was keeping me awake and crawled into his bed, and promptly fell asleep.

After Mike left for school, I wandered in this bedroom only to find a garbage can catching the water and a suitcase FULL of ants. Mike is now busily exterminating them while I volunteered to cook supper and clean all the dishes to avoid having to deal with the ant populace. What a last day at the apartment!

We also went to a few scrapbooking stores and I picked up a few more things. My scrapbook is going to be pretty awesome, I did a few pages today and am about to do a few more tonight when Mike is gone on a class field trip to the observatory. But for now the battle against the ants ensues.

Another Dose of Poison

Thursday, July 22nd, 2004

Well, ladies and gents, I’m up here for yet another week. I wasn’t feeling very well on the ride back to Houston on Saturday, and by supper time I was feeling terrible and had a huge huge headache. I went to lay down, and the next day I was feeling as bad as I had been feeling a week prior, so we went to an Immediate Care Clinic but they wouldn’t treat me because they thought the illness had gone on too long and I should have more blood tests taken.

So we decided to skip the ER (which is what they recommended) and Mike’s mom, Valerie, said that she would take me to her family doctor the next morning. So, bright and early we got up and headed over to the doctor’s office. Of course, THEIR doctor wasn’t in, but I saw his brother (also a doc, MD must run in the family) and he decided to treat me for a bacterial infection and a parasite, so I’m taking this poison stuff to kill the parasite which tastes AWFUL and then antibiotics as well, plus he gave me pain killers. I haven’t used those since yesterday so I’m well on the road to recovery.

I got a ton of scrapbooking stuff though, and plan to use most of tomorrow to do that. I already have two pages done in it. It’s a really fun hobby to get into. I really like the Jolee’s Boutique Stuff. I might take some pictures tomorrow of what I’ve done so far and post them up, but since I’m still working on the vacation pictures, take what I’ve said with a grain of salt.

Anyways, it’s getting around that time where I should be heading to bed, so I’ll hopefully be back with more exciting updates soon.

Mario Kart Madness

Friday, July 16th, 2004

Yesterday was a fun day filled with shopping, new restaurants and Gamecubosity. We set off in search of a new laptop bag for me, and came back with a really nice one. I likes it!! Hopefully this one won’t break and fall apart like the last one, grrr. It’s a pretty mess, I’ll tell you! But yeah, got that and finished buying a birthday present for a certain best bud of mine! Poked around in my new favourite store, and ate at Applebees. The off to buy a Gamecube with Mariokart! Huz-ZAH! I can’t wait to get my hands on Paper Mario 2! We went to see Shrek 2 as well, then headed home. So far it’s been a great vacation, and I really don’t want to go home, but I guess I’ll just have to grin and bear it. Moving into my new apartment is going to rock, so I have that to look forward to and then Mike is back to come see me!! Huzzah!!

The news on the pics is that I should have them up next week. I was trying to get them done before I left, but it’s really not looking good. I’ve been so busy running around, trying to squeeze in all the Mike time I possibly can before I have to leave, I figure I’ll have tons of time when I get to Canada to just goof around, so I’ll do it then. I also took some pictures of “Historic Nacogdoches” for ya’ll to see, I might do something really nice with those ones. So until then, I figure this will be my last entry until I get to Halifax. Remember, I’m ok! Don’t worry! :D

Dry Toast and Jello

Monday, July 12th, 2004

Well, I’m at the apartment, chilling out, just relaxing. And by “the” apartment I mean Mike’s. He’s gone to class and I’ve got the run of the place. So what antics have I employed so far? I daringly showered, dressed, and made toast. Exciting or what? I’ve been trying to catch up on all the internet things I’ve missed for over a week. But I’m still putting off catching up on THorum. Not only will it take me ages, but… it’ll take me ages! Although putting it off is just making it worse, I’ll just put it off awhile longer. :)

I’m going to try and throw some pictures on the forum soon, so you should all be checking out that. I’ll let you know when. As for my illness, I’m doing better, I scarfed down 4 pieces of toast today, and I’m still hungry! I must have lost friggin 20 pounds on this bland food diet. I want a Big Mac! (When I can actually have one, I won’t want it anymore, just wait.)

So that’s it for me for now, I may update later on with some actual stories from the cruise. And Texas in general! Later, ya’ll!

Quick Hello

Sunday, July 11th, 2004

I haven’t forgetten about ya’ll! Well, not entirely. Been rather preoccupied the past 7 days and quite far away from cheap internet sources in the middle of the ocean. Right now I’m listening to Mike babytalk his puppies. It’s pretty funny. It looks like I’ll be staying another week. I’m not exactly sure what got me, but it didn’t like my insides and decided to keep me in Texas another week. So I’m staying until next Monday. But don’t worry, I’ll be FINE! Really! They aren’t keeping me captive! At least I don’t think *eyes Mike suspiciously*.

The cruise was tons of fun! We’re sorting out to see what pictures are “viewing worthy” fer ya’ll. Hopefully we’ll have those up within the next day or two. We didn’t take as many as we set out to take, I believe 50 odd were good enough to post. So sorry to disappoint. The day we were going to take all the pictures of the ship, I ended up getting sick. So we managed to take maybe two pictures of the ship. Oops! I’ll try to put more stories on here eventually of the whole vacation. It could take several years, lots to mention!

Anyways! I’ll be back a week from tomorrow if things go as planned. Hope every one is having a good time in whatever you’re up to. I haven’t checked my forum in ages, so hopefully you guys can let me now what’s shakin’ and I’ll hopefully talk to everyone soon! Love you guys!!! :)

I’M OK!

Friday, July 2nd, 2004

Just for anyone that was concerned, I’m ok — Mike hasn’t tied me to a chair and refused to feed me or anything. The flight was only moderately scary, the first take off was pretty terrifying. Met some interesting people on the flights, one guy was an airplane mechanic so he told me what all the strange noises were and stuff, and what to expect. The next guy was a student at a university in Michigan. He looked older than me but he was only 19! He was pretty interesting to talk to, I didn’t open a book or listen to any music the whole time! Pretty impressive. It was better to have someone to talk to though.

I ended up not having any problems in Detroit, except they wanted to check through my luggage because I told them I was visiting Mike and I had put I was going on a cruise on my customs slip thing. But besides that, I found my next flight fine and then got to Houston and promptly got lost. Text messaging to the rescue! Good thing I brought my cell!

But yeah, stop yer worrying! I’m here, I’m safe and having a good time! :P
