Errands
Now, I know I’m a bit on the dorky side, but never really have been the Suzy Homemaker type. I let my dishes pile up for days (a month is my record thus far), my laundry gets done when I run outta socks, I let my Pepsi cans fill up my desk space (current count is at 18), and don’t pick up things I drop on the floor. I’m constantly getting yelled at for it, but I still don’t really move much to clean it up, I try to keep the rest of the house looking fairly devoid of Meags’ Mess, but my room is my pigsty. But when I get cleaning, I go the whole nine yards.
And today, I was up reasonably early. So I showered, got ready, and rolled all my change from tips that I’ve collected in the past month. Asked dad for the car, then took off towards Pubnico.
The car had like, NO gas in it. So I was freaking out, hoping that I could get to the bank first, then maybe make it to the gas station. I had $1.50 in my wallet and like.. hrm, maybe 5$ on the debit. And I had 40$ in rolled change, haha! Don’t think they’d take it, so I managed to make it to the Royal Bank, cashed things in, picked up my presciption, then chugged over to the gas station. By now, I’m feeling pretty good about all the things I’ve gotten done before 1pm, my normal wakeup time.
Put ten dollars worth of gas in the car, then went to the post office, before remembering it was most likely closed. I kept on to the Credit Union, to get some US money orders for all my eBay auctions. They wanted 6$ each! I was like, no thank YOU, and left. Ended up stopping by the post office on my way to work, where they were only $4. Still not GREAT, but better.
But the point of this whole thing was pretty much to say how I enjoy going out and doing these boring chores. Even if I don’t meet up with any friends, or have a meaningful conversation with anyone, it’s still nice. I enjoy those independent little excursions. Maybe this is why I’ve always loved grocery shopping. I can’t really explain it other then that. It’s like when I lived in the city, and used to take walks to the farthest grocery store, stopping in on all the little stores on my way home. Company is great, but there’s something about doing it alone that makes it better.

I am not the cleanest person, but I always make th effort to do dishes.
I dunno why, just do. Even bought my own set with I was living on my own with people, and did them every thing I used them.
Go figure.
